Old secretariat in Gandhinagar to undergo redevelopment

Gandhinagar: The existing buildings of the old secretariate in the State capital Gandhinagar will be demolished and new multistory blocks will be constructed.
The old secretariate is known as Jivraj Mehta Bhavan. It is located opposite the new secretariat. The old secretariate campus has over fifty years old buildings that have the offices of various departments of the State government. The government plans to construct new towers in this campus and shift the offices from the old building. Once this is done, the old buildings shall be demolished and the open space shall be used for greenery and park.
The tender process for this development work shall be kicked off soon according to government sources. The first phase will involve construction worth Rs. 100 crore. DeshGujarat
