Gandhinagar: Restoration of electricity transmission services in all areas affected by Cyclone Biparjoy is complete, Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd. (GETCO) said in a statement.
According to an official statement issued on Sunday, the cyclone caused significant damage to 391 substations, 675 transmission lines of various voltage classes, 43 H-Frame structures, and 78 transmission towers in North Gujarat and Saurashtra-Kutch.
The statement further mentioned that GETCO mobilised 100 teams of more than 200 employees, enabling power restoration to substations and critical areas as early as June 20. Despite challenging working conditions, the transmission lines supplying power to all critical extra-high voltage (EHV) and high-tension (HT) consumers were successfully restored, the statement further said.
