DCM Shriram commissions Caustic Soda Production of its 300 TPD Expansion Project in Jhagadia, Gujarat
April 04, 2025
Mumbai: DCM Shriram Ltd. today in a note announced it has commissioned a new caustic soda flakes plant with a capacity of 300 tonnes per day (TPD) at its chemicals complex in Jhagadia, Bharuch district, Gujarat. With the addition of this new facility, the total caustic soda flakes production capacity at the Jhagadia unit now stands at 900 TPD, making it one of the largest single-location caustic soda flakes manufacturing sites in India.
As the second-largest caustic soda producer in India, DCM Shriram boasts an installed capacity of one million tonnes per annum. The latest capacity enhancement highlights the company’s readyness to meet domestic and international demand.
Speaking about the commissioning of a new plant, Management stated, “This commission will not only strengthen our market leadership but also enhances our ability to serve diverse industries with high-quality chemical solutions.”
The newly commissioned plant is an identical twin of the unit that was inaugurated in October 2024. Both the plants are equipped with flexi-fuel technology, allowing for multiple fuel options. This strategic approach aligns with the company’s focus on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. DeshGujarat
