Traffic jam at Limbdi on Rajkot – Ahmedabad highway due to rain
June 28, 2023
Surendranagar: Heavy rainfall resulted in severe waterlogging and a complete traffic standstill near Limbdi on the Rajkot-Ahmedabad highway on Tuesday. The ongoing construction work to expand the highway to six lanes has already had an impact on the daily commute in that area.
The traffic jam extended for 25 kilometers, causing a delay in the usual four-and-a-half-hour journey from Ahmedabad to Rajkot, which took seven hours instead. The congestion started on Monday evening and continued throughout Tuesday, leading many vehicles, including buses, to avoid the Limbdi route and instead opt for the Surendranagar and Sanand route.
Additionally, the traffic jam resulted in increased business for the food joints along the highway near Limbdi as people got off buses during the jam. Eventually, the traffic congestion was resolved after the police and staff from the Road & Building department arrived at the location. DeshGujarat
