Gujarat’s telecom subscriber base reaches 6.63 Crore; Jio and BSNL only gainers

Gandhinagar: According to the most recent telecom subscription report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Gujarat witnessed a net increase of approximately 83,245 telecom subscribers in April this year.

The net subscriber base in Gujarat rose to 6.63 crore compared to 6.62 crore in March. This is in contrast to the national trend, where the number of telecom subscribers declined by 7.9 lakh to reach 114.31 crore in April.

The growth in Gujarat’s subscriber base was primarily driven by Reliance Jio, which added around 1.35 lakh subscribers during the month. BSNL managed to gain 31,174 subscribers during the same period.

On the other hand, Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi) and Bharti Airtel experienced a decline in their subscriber numbers. Bharti Airtel lost a marginal 2,685 subscribers, while Vi witnessed a huge loss of 80,791 subscribers.

The report also shows that the tele density in Gujarat stood at 92.73%, higher than the national tele density of 84.46%.  DeshGujarat
