Sabarmati: Starting today, residents of Ahmedabad will have the opportunity to enjoy sitting and dining on a cruise ship in the middle of the Sabarmati. With the launch of the city’s first floating restaurant cruise called ‘Akshar river cruise‘, food enthusiasts are curious about the available dishes and the details of the journey. Here, we provide you with the details, including the menu and cost of lunch and dinner on this cruise. This river cruise restaurant offers a variety of dishes from India, Gujarat, and around the world.

How to book an experience at the river cruise restaurant?

Bookings to enjoy the floating restaurant can be made through the website https://aksharrivercruise.com/. Additionally, a reception area has been set up under Atal Bridge to facilitate offline ticket purchases.

For lunch, the cost is ₹2124 (1800 rupees per person + GST @ 18%), and for dinner, it is ₹2360 (2000 rupees per person + GST @ 18%). During the cruise, guests can savour food, enjoy entertainment, and admire the views of the river and the floating restaurant for approximately one and a half hours.

During lunchtime, the cruise will make a trip in Sabarmati between 12 noon to 1:15 pm, and for dinner, there are two time slots available in the evening. The first slot is from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and the second slot is from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

 

What do the Lunch and Dinner options entail for the respective prices?

Let’s take a look at the menu. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a welcome drink and have access to unlimited cocktails and soft drinks bar on the floating restaurant. The restaurant also offers a salad bar with options like simple salad, compound salad, dressings, and yoghurt chat.

You can relish local Gujarati cuisine, South Indian cuisine, Indian bread selection, and international cuisine (Western/Asian) alongside various papads, pickles, and chutneys. The meal includes the delightful experience of tasting four different Indian desserts.

The river cruise restaurant can accommodate approximately 125 to 150 people at a time. Safety and security measures are in place, including a life-saving kit and CCTV cameras. Additionally, the dinner experience is enhanced with lighting and DJ sound.

This river cruise restaurant was launched on July 2nd by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The objective of the cruise initiative, implemented by Sabarmati Riverfront Development Limited (SRFDCL), is to convert the river into a vibrant leisure destination.
