Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel has decided to give the first copy of the property card, to be prepared under the Swamitva Yojana, free of charge to the property holders of the rural areas of the state.
The Swamitva-Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas-Yojana has been implemented by the Panchayatiraj Department of the Government of India to measure the property of property holders in rural areas through drone technology in this age of digital technology.
Gujarat has been included in the second phase under this scheme. Under the scheme, the work of preparing property cards in a total of 14,814 villages in the state is in progress. So far, drone survey operations have been completed by Survey of India in more than 11,000 villages. Gradually, property cards will be prepared in all the villages included under this scheme in the state in a planned manner.
Chief Minister Patel has decided to distribute, free of charge, the first copy of the property card prepared after the record promulgation under this ownership scheme to the property holders who are citizens of remote rural areas.
Millions of property holders in rural areas will get a record of rights due to survey work being carried out on a large scale for the first time using the most modern technology under the Swamitva Yojana. Through this scheme, every property holder in rural areas will get a legal document showing ownership rights for the first time. Having a property card as a legal document for such property holders will make it easier to access their property for loans and other financial benefits. People in the fringes of rural areas will be economically empowered by using their wealth. Property-related disputes will decrease. DeshGujarat
