Rajkot Police bans private buses on 150 ft ring road; Bus operators protest
July 16, 2023
Rajkot: Private bus operators are protesting the ban imposed by the city police commissioner on movements of private passenger buses on city’s 150-ft ring road. The bus operators will hold a meeting to decide their protest strategy in this regard, they said.
The city police has issued a notification in this regard claiming that the ring road which was earlier outside the city is now very much a part of city and therefore the decision has been taken for ease of traffic and vehicular movement.
The bus operators however argue that while GSRTC (Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation) operated buses are allowed on ring-road, why private buses can’t operate on same road? The bus operators also argue that the decision has been imposed without consulting the bus operators. The Travels Association office bearers also argued that passengers will face great difficulties if buses are taken away from ring road. DeshGujarat
