Ahmedabad Police directs Spas to furnish owner and employee details
July 31, 2023
Ahmedabad: The city police issued a notice to all spa owners in the city, directing them to submit their personal and employees’ information to the respective police stations.
The move comes in response to the police’s observation that some spas and massage parlors in residential and commercial areas are involved in illegal activities like flesh trade and substance abuse.
The notification by Police Commissioner (in charge) Prem Vir Singh requires spa owners to provide comprehensive details, including ownership information, addresses, and contact details. Additionally, they must share employee names, addresses, residential proof, and photographs. If there are foreign employees, their passport and visa details must also be submitted with evidence of their visa type. Violators of the notification will face charges under IPC Section 188.
Surat police had previously issued a similar notification, seeking spa owners’ and employees’ details. DeshGujarat
