ADM, Deputy Mamlatdar among three detained over viral video of suspended Anand collector

Anand: In the recent developments surrounding the case of the suspended Anand district collector DS Gadhvi, a conspiracy involving the placement of a spy camera in the collector’s chamber has come to light. Additional Collector (RAC) Ketki Vyas, Deputy Mamlatdar J. D. Patel, and another employee Chavda have been detained in connection with this case.

DS Gadhvi’s suspension was ordered by the state government on grave charges of misconduct and moral turpitude under the All India Service (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1969. The collector’s suspension was prompted by the revelation of his inappropriate behaviour, captured on camera.

Subsequently, an FIR was lodged by the police in the viral video case. On Friday, three individuals, including Additional Collector Ketki Vyas, Deputy Mamlatdar J. D. Patel, and one other, were subjected to police questioning. During the questioning, it was unveiled that the woman ADM played a role in devising a plan to ensnare the collector. Taking advantage of his absence, a plug camera was discreetly installed in his cabin in January. In an attempt to build a case against him, a prostitute was allegedly sent to the cabin on two occasions. These efforts eventually yielded success, resulting in the capture of a video that showcased Gadhvi engaging in inappropriate behaviour. This video, recorded in spy cam, was responsible for his subsequent suspension as its contents came to light.

As the investigation continues to unfold, formal complaints have been lodged against Ketaki Vyas, Deputy Mamlatdar J. D. Patel, and Harsh Chavda, all of whom are currently detained. Upon completion of the FIR process, it is likely that the police will proceed to arrest the three accused individuals.

It is also learned that the reason behind the step taken by the ADM involved some financial gains that she was unable to achieve, as Collector Gadvi did not support her in that matter. DeshGujarat
