Parts of South Gujarat received up to 5.2 inches of rain since yesterday

Gandhinagar: Rainfall activity in Gujarat has increased this week, with several places in South Gujarat experiencing heavy rain. In the 24 hours ending at 6 am today, 151 talukas out of 251 received rain. Also, from sunrise today, 78 talukas witnessed rainfall until 4 pm. Kaprada taluka in Valsad has received the highest amount of rain, up to 5.2 inches, since yesterday.
According to data from the State Emergency Operation Center, in the state capital, during the last 24 hours ending at 6 a.m. on September 9, 17 talukas received rainfall of over 2 inches. Among these, 4 talukas, namely Kaprada, Subir, Dang, and Dharampur, received over 4 inches of rain.
Khergam, Ankleshwar, Mangrol, Uchchhal, Mahesana, Vagra, Mahuva, Vaso, Pardi, Valsad, Chikli, Nadiad, and Bharuch got rainfall ranging from 2 to 4 inches.
Valsad, Dang, and Navsari were the top three districts in terms of rainfall during this period.
In the 10-hour period from 6 am to 4 pm today, rainfall occurred in 78 talukas. However, only four talukas received over an inch of rainfall. These talukas include Morva (Hadaf), Mehmedabad, Nadiad, and Sojitra. Morwa (Hadaf) in Panchmahal received the highest amount of rain today after sunrise, with nearly 2 inches (50 mm) of rainfall by 4 p.m.
It is also noteworthy that Gujarat has received 85.84% of the typical average monsoon season rainfall up to this point in the year. As of 6 a.m. today, the cumulative rainfall in the state has reached 752.17 mm. DeshGujarat
