Gandhinagar: Poshan Mah is being celebrated in more than 53,000 Anganwadi centers throughout the state of Gujarat. This year, the Department of Women and Child Development has initiated a unique campaign called the Maha Status Campaign, aimed at raising awareness about nutrition via WhatsApp.
As part of Poshan Mah, a range of activities including seminars, quizzes, nutrition pledges, recipe competitions, millet fairs, and vaccination drives are being held across all districts of Gujarat. Additionally, awareness about nutrition is being disseminated through traditional folk forms such as Garba at various Anganwadi centers.
Ranjit Kumar Singh, the Director of ICDS, told the media that apart from traditional platforms, the Department of Women and Child Development is also utilizing popular social media platforms like WhatsApp to reach a broader audience. Furthermore, Anganwadi workers are conducting home visits to monitor the nutritional status of children and pregnant women. DeshGujarat
