Anand: The police have nabbed 26 individuals who attacked the home of the owner of the land of Enjoy-City water park located in Valvod, Borsad taluka here, and threatened her with death while showing a weapon resembling a revolver.
Pinalben Patel bought 70 bighas of land from the farmers in Valvod in 2011 in the name of herself and her relatives. She leased the land to Rajeshbhai, alias Bhagat Gothviya, living in Vadodara, at a rent of Rs 7.55 lakh per month. Rajeshbhai built a water park named Enjoy City on the land. It was inaugurated at the hands of then Gujarat CM Vijaybhai Rupani in 2018. The rent agreement ended eight months ago. The tenants were asked to vacate the land as they did not pay the rent. A new rent agreement was made in February 2023 with the condition of payment of the remaining rent. However, the tenants did not pay the rent. The notices were sent to them to vacate the land.
Rajeshbhai allegedly called Pinalben, asking her to sell the land to him and giving death threats if she didn’t agree. A total of 25 people, including Rajeshbhai and Sahil Chauhan, reached Pinalben’s home at 11 p.m. on Monday. They rushed into the house and damaged the windows. Rajeshbhai allegedly showed her a revolver-like weapon and made threats to kill them if they didn’t sell the land to them.
Pinabel filed a complaint at Bhadran police station against them. The police have nabbed the 26 accused. The 26 accused are found to be bullies hired by Rajesh alias Bharat and Sahil Chauhan. The locals of the village reached Pinalben’s home for help. The mob of the locals broke around five cars of the accused bullies. DeshGujarat
