Launch of Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant District program across Gujarat on 2nd October

Gandhinagar: Gujarat is gearing up for the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in January 2024. As a part of this 10th Vibrant Summit, a series of programs will be organized across the state, starting from Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October until Sardar Patel Jayanti on 31st October 2023. These programs, themed under ‘Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant District,’ will be conducted in all 33 districts and 4 metro cities of the state, including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot, totalling 37 locations.

In Mehsana, Patan, and Ahmedabad city, the Minister of Industries Shri Balwantsinh Rajput, and in Kutch, Morbi, Anand, and Rajkot city, the Minister of State for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma will be present. Similarly, in Surat, Vadodara, and rural areas of Surat, Minister of State for Industries Shri Harsh Sanghavi will be present. Additionally, in district offices, industry associations, and nominated dignitaries from various districts will also participate in the Vibrant Gujarat-Vibrant District program.

All districts will execute these programs through the District Administration’s local governance system. In these programs, individual exhibitions will be organized for 2-3 days in each district, promoting local products, including One District One Product (ODOP), startups, local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and more. Additionally, self-help groups, Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs), women entrepreneurs, Khadi and village industries, Kutir Udyog (cottage industries), and others will also be included in these programs. The exhibition will give priority to products selected under the One District One Product initiative.

For these programs, seminars and workshops on capacity building, entrepreneurship, export promotion, market linkages, and more will be organized through district-level administrative mechanisms. These programs will collaborate with organizations such as the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Invest India, Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), National Institute of Design (NID), National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA), and other similar institutions.

Furthermore, under the Credit Linkage Program, loan fairs will also be organized. These loan fairs will be coordinated by District Lead Bank Managers in collaboration with the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).

It is noteworthy that the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which commenced in 2003 under the leadership of the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and current Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has completed two decades. The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is scheduled to be held in January 2024. Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 will showcase Gujarat’s industrial capabilities and production excellence, bringing together leading industrialists, policy makers, and visionaries to chart the path for Gujarat’s future development and prosperity.
