Vadodara: The organizers of the Laxmi Vilas Palace Heritage Garba in the city have canceled the event management contract of the company run by one Shihab Pathan. This company was earlier given the responsibility to organize and manage the upcoming Garba festival on the grounds of Laxmi Vilas Palace.

It has been learned that the event management company, known as Boyzone Event & Promotions, was initially assigned the task of organizing the Garba event. However, locals led by Jyotirnath Maharaj expressed their disapproval, stating that the involvement of people from other religions in purely Hindu festival events is not acceptable, which led to the cancellation of Boyzone’s contract. Subsequently, a decision was made to entrust event management to a company run by Hindus.

The erstwhile royal family of Vadodara organizes the Laxmi Vilas Palace Heritage Garba every year, attracting more than 30,000 participants who dance to the tunes of Garba. Given the scale of the event, a standby team is in place to ensure that no disturbances or disruptions occur during the nine days of the Navratri Garba festival. The organizers will also hire bouncers to prevent anti-social elements from entering the Garba festival.
