Gandhinagar: Gujarat government today informed that more than 9.50 lakh workers in Gujarat have been paid more than Rs. 1202 crore bonus ahead of the Diwali festival this year by 5,513 industrial units in the State.

According to a note released by the labor commissioner, this huge sum of bonus has been paid to workers without any dispute.

Bonus ahead of Diwali is released for employees by government as well as private sector so that the employees can celebrate the festival of Diwali with surplus money in hand.

It is the system of bonus that triggers huge rush in the markets for purchase of various items like sweets, decor, cloths, consumer goods and more ahead of Diwali.

According to labor commissioner, 9,51,274 workers across 5,513 industrial units and organizations received Rs. 1202 crore 64 lakh 280 worth bonus.
