November 18, 2023
Ahmedabad: The Narendra Modi Stadium in the city is poised to host the epic clash between the Indian and Australian cricket teams for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 on November 19th, Sunday.
As this tournament concludes, a four-part ceremony is planned to mark the culmination of the clash between these two cricketing titans at the world’s largest cricket stadium here in Motera.
The ceremony will commence with “A SALUTE IN THE SKY,” an airshow scheduled at 12:30 PM for 10 minutes. The renowned Suryakiran Acrobatic Team of the Indian Air Force, the only nine-hawk acrobatic team in Asia, will showcase their skills with an acrobatic display over the Narendra Modi Stadium. The performance will be synchronized with music paying tribute to the New India. The flights will take off from Ahmedabad airport, performing a vertical airshow above the stadium.
The halftime performance is set for 5:30 PM and will last for 15 minutes. This segment will feature the “Parade of Champions,” a historic moment where, for the first time, all the World Cup-winning captains will be honored in the grandest arena in cricket. The BCCI will recognize and celebrate these legendary leaders in front of a packed Narendra Modi Stadium.
A 20-second reel highlighting their winning moments, along with the ever-changing ICC Men’s CWC Trophy, will play on the big screen as each champion walks onto the field of play. The captains will share their World Cup triumphs in conversation with a designated BCCI/Star anchor. The BCCI officials will felicitate them with a special blazer representing the ICC CWC 23.
Moving forward, the Jashn Jashn will electrify the stadium as music composer Pritam performs live. Pritam and the singers will bring their performance to life on customized floats, taking a 360-degree lap around the field of play, providing the audience with an immersive experience. Five hundred dancers will create formations on the field, presenting a visual delight. The featured songs will include Deva Deva, Kesariya, Lehra Do, Jeetega Jeetega, Nagada Nagada, Dhoom Machale, Dangal, and Dil Jashan Bole – The ICC CWC 23 Anthem.
The second innings will have a second drinks break at 8:30 PM for 90 seconds. This break will feature a unique visual countdown where the entire roof of the stadium will serve as a canvas, showcasing an internationally programmed lights and laser show. Laser Magic Production from the UK, known for curating shows for World Expo, Oman Et La Mer, World Petroleum Conference, Brics Summit, and more, will be orchestrating the show.
The grand finale of the ceremony will be the “Crowning of World Champions” during the last ball and trophy-lifting moment. In a unique move for any sporting event, the champions will be crowned from the sky, with 1200 drones creating magic in the night sky, featuring the first-ever aerial “CHAMPIONS” board. This extraordinary moment will be followed by a mesmerizing fireworks display by the winners of the world’s biggest fireworks competition. DeshGujarat
