A 60,000 Sq Ft Custom House set up at Surat Diamond Bourse

Surat: The Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB), the world’s largest office complex spanning 68,17,050 sq ft with a total of 4,200 offices, now boasts its dedicated customs house.
The central government has allocated a custom clearance house specifically for SDB. Dinesh Navadiya, chairman of the customs committee of SDB, remarked, “Following our request to the finance minister to facilitate import-export operations, we have been granted India’s largest custom clearance house, initially staffed with 11 dedicated officers. This facility covers 60,000 square feet and is equipped with modern amenities.”
A team of officials will, include one assistant- or deputy commissioner-rank officer, superintendents, inspectors, tax assistants, and havildars. The team will manage all export and import activities at SDB.
The inauguration of SDB is scheduled to be conducted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December. DeshGujarat
