Bhuj: There has been regular traffic jams on Samkhiyali – Maliya national highway due to demolition of a railway over bridge near Haripar.

Traffic jams as long as 20 kms in length are regularly witnessed on this crucial highway that connects Kutch to Saurashtra. On Friday, during the peak of traffic jam, a vehicle spent five hours crossing the distance of 20 km on this highway.

While administration has appealed to use Radhanpur side highway to reach Ahmedabad, the highway connecting Samkhiyali to Maliya is the only option to reach Saurashtra from Kutch. Thousands of vehicles pass through this highway daily. DeshGujarat
