Aether industry fire incident in Sachin GIDC of Surat: 7 missing laborers found dead

Surat: Surat: Dead bodies of 7 missing laborers were found after an incident of blast followed by fire in Sachin GIDC area based Aether industry’s chemical manufacturing unit.
As many as 22 laborers suffered burn injury in this incident, among whom at least 3 are suffering from severe burn and taking treatment as indoor patients in hospital. Skeletons of 7 laborers found after the incident of fire are taken for a postmortem in civil hospital.
The company has decided to give compensation of Rs. 50 lakh from its own side to each of seven victims in addition to the compensation amount payable as per the rules. Those injured in this incident are taken to various hospitals including Sanjivani, Apple and Maitri hospitals. The company has decided to extend Rs. 25 lakh assistance to each injured laborer who is inable to rejoin work. The company official stated the company is ready to recruit family member of victim to job if they wish. The company official also said that the company is ready to bear the expenses of education of children of victims.
Among 7 missing laborers, one was direct employee of Aether who was Divyeshkumar Patel from company’s’ production team while 6 others were working for contractor who were Santosh Vishwakarma, Sanat Kumar Mishra, Dharmendra Kumar, Ganesh Prasad, Sunil Kumar and Abhishek Singh.
The Industrial Safety department has meanwhile served closure notice to the company. If it believed that blast and fire took place in a chemical storage tank on the ground floor. Over 100 laborers were working when the incident happened in the company. DeshGujarat
