Ahmedabad: The wife of Gujarat cadre IPS officer R T Susara reportedly died by suicide, hanging herself at their residence here in the city today morning.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police S M Patel, 47-year-old Shaluben was found hanging from the ceiling fan in a room at the IPS officer’s Thaltej residence. The incident occurred after her return from Surat late Thursday night, as revealed in the police investigation. No suicide note was found, and the Bodakdev police station registered the case as an accidental death. Shaluben’s body has been sent for a post-mortem at Sola Civil Hospital.
Susara, a 2011 batch IPS officer currently serving as the Superintendent of Police, Marine Task Force, in Hazira, Surat, arrived in Ahmedabad on Thursday afternoon. However, Shaluben returned at night when Susara was asleep.
This morning, Susara woke up and found his wife hanging from the fan in another room, after which he himself called the local police. The preliminary police probe suggests that Shaluben took her own life during the night for reasons yet unknown. DeshGujarat
