Amreli: Surat-based builder and diamond businessman Gopal Pragji Vastapara has taken a pledge to install Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue in 5,000 villages. So far, such statues have been installed in 147 villages.

Vastapara honoured 148 persons whose names were Vallabh on last October 31st, the birt anniversary of Sardar Patel. Hailing from the Chamardi village of Babra taluka in Amreli, Vastapara has taken a pledge to install 8-foot-tall statues of Sardar Patel in 5,000 villages by 2025.

The next set of statues will be given to village leaders of 25 villages on December 5th this year at a function in Chamardi village-based Radhe farm. The villages covered in this set are from Vadiya and Kukavav talukas. DeshGujarat
