Around 7 tons garbage collected from Girnar Lili Parikrama route

Junagadh: As much as 7 tons garbage has been collected in a cleaning drive at Girnar Lili Parikrama route so far. The drive is organized by the forest department, RSS, around 500 teachers, Vasundhara Nature Club and school students from Junagadh, Dhoraji and other places among others. Over a million people gather in Junagadh and walk through the Jungle for parikrama of Gujarat’s tallest Girnar mountain every year post Diwali. Such yatra results into large size of garbage including plastic waste dumping into the jungle. Volunteers try their best to prevent such garbage before and during the yatra by various means. Even after that, tons of garbage stays on yatra route after completion of five-day yatra period. Voluntary organization hold around a month long cleaning drive after yatra. DeshGujarat
