9 Bangladeshis held for unlawful stay in Surat; One held for forging documents

Surat: The Local Crime Branch and Special Operations Group (SOG), in an operation on Monday, arrested 10 people. Nine of them are from Bangladesh, and they’ve been living in Surat unlawfully for more than five years. Additionally, one person was arrested for making fake documents for these individuals.
Acting on a tip off, SOG teams conducted surveillance in different areas of the city, subsequently executing raids that resulted in the arrest of nine Bangladeshis, including three women and six men. Among the seized items were nine mobile phones, 11 copies of Indian Aadhaar cards, Indian PAN cards, National ID cards of Bangladesh, fake Indian Voter Identity Cards, Indian Driving Licences, debit cards from various banks, boarding passes for Spice Jet flights, passport application forms, and birth certificates from Bangladesh.
The accused have been living in various areas of Surat for the past five years, after fraudulently acquiring forged identity documents such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, driving licenses, and birth certificates.
The arrested individuals include:
1. Harunarshid Hamid (Anupam Residency, Pandesara),
2. Mansoor Molla (Prachi Apartment, Karanj),
3. Shiyan Khalifa (Nakshatra Complex, Jolwa),
4. Sharmin Khanum Sheikh (Raj Apartment, Kamrej),
5. Farooq Hussain (Anupam Residency Pandesara),
6. Tuli Mandal (Anupam Residency),
7. Kajoli Sardar (Raj Apartment, Kamrej),
8. Rana Liaquat (Raj Apartment, Kamrej),
9. Bahadur Rafiq Kha (Raj Apartment, Kamrej),
10. Accused Akash Sanjay Mankar (Aradhana Dream, Jolwa, Kadodara)
The accused, Akash Sanjay Mankar, used Photoshop to create documents for Indian citizenship, including PAN cards, election cards, and driving licenses.
These individuals have been linked to prostitution activities. The illegal immigrants crossed the borders of Satkhira and Jossore in Bangladesh, entering the Bangoan border of West Bengal. Human traffickers enticed them with lucrative job offers, but upon reaching Surat, they found themselves compelled to work against their will. Haroon Rashid is the main accused in the case.
