Gandhinagar: Gujarat cadre IAS officer JP Gupta, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Finance in the state government is likely to be appointed as the ACS in Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s office.

Gupta, a 1991-batch IAS officer, has held positions in the departments of land revenue, urban development, transport, education, and commercial tax. He served as the Principal Secretary in the Finance Department before being appointed as ACS. Gupta is also the Managing Director of Gujarat State Financial Services and Chairman of Gujarat State Investment Limited.

It is learned that Gupta will take charge in Rajasthan after the culmination of the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. However, with Gupta moving to Rajasthan and the budget session of the Gujarat Assembly commencing on February 1, the Gujarat government will have to appoint a new Finance Secretary soon. DeshGujarat
