VGGS 2024: APM Terminals Pipavav inks MoUs with GMB and Welspun

Pipavav: At the Vibrant Gujarat Summit, APM Terminals Pipavav signed two Memorandums of Understandings (MOUs) to develop a complete green hydrogen ecosystem and develop port infrastructure.

The focus of latest MOUs will be on initiatives such as the development of the region through investment, Green Hydrogen facilities, utilization of renewable power sources, and infrastructure development, among others.

MOU details:

~ Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) – Infrastructure Development

APM Terminals Pipavav and GMB [Gujarat Maritime Board] signed MOU to facilitate necessary permissions for the construction of Liquid Berth, Container Berth and a Yard, Container Handling Equipment, and Marine Infrastructure Development at Pipavav Port, estimated at the cost of INR 3,320 crore, thereby creating jobs and economic growth through infrastructure development.

~ Welspun – Green Hydrogen Collaboration

APM Terminals Pipavav and Welspun Group signed MOU to explore opportunities for the development of Green Hydrogen facilities at land provided by the port. The collaboration will target export/domestic usage through various models.

Green hydrogen is produced from water and renewable energy. It can replace fossil fuels, such as natural gas in industrial processes, as a transport fuel, as a sustainable industrial raw material and as energy storage to replace batteries. DeshGujarat
