Gujarat CM launches Amul’s organic products; inaugurates and kicks off number of initiatives of Banas Dairy and Bank

Palanpur: Gujarat Chief Minister today dedicated and performed ground breaking for several initiatives of Banas Dairy and Bank.
The Chief Minister launched Kisan Credit Card which avails loan at zero percent interest to farmers and cattle keepers. The idea is to connect cooperatives to only cooperative banks so that cooperative to cooperative interaction can grow further. The Kisan Credit Card initiative was first launched in Banaskantha and Panchmahal districts as a pilot project. It has been now expanded to Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Surat districts with micro ATM addition. The Chief Minister handed over Kisan Credit Cards to cattle keepers and farmers in the function. Banas Dairy offers upto Rs. 50,000 credit to cattle keepers.
The Chief Minister also performed e-bhumi pujan of new office of Banas Bank which will come up at a cost of Rs. 20 crore over 1.18 lakh square ft area. The new building will have 300 seats auditorium, 100 seat computer training hall, dormitory for farmers, high-tech record room and other facilities.
The Chief Minister performed ground breaking of Banas Bovine Breeding & Research Centre which shall come up at a cost of Rs. 234 crore at Bhildi. The facility shall have latest IVF ET techniques and other facilities to witness birth of 10,000 cows and buffaloes per year.
The Chief Minister inaugurated Banas Dairy’s ultra modern Atta plant that has daily 50 mt capacity. Rs. 45 crore facility will have 2,000 mt capacity silos and a high-tech lab to ensure quality checks.
Amul’s organic products were also launched in this function. Amul has roped in over 50,000 farmers from Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan to launch organic Chana, Mung, Tuvar, Dehraduni Basmati Chaval, Lal organic Rajma, whole Urad, Sona Masoori Chaval as per the APEDA rules. The next organic products to be launched are Bajra, Ragi, Juvar among others.
Amul’s Whey proteins ultra filtration plant which has a capacity of 10,000 kg per hour was inaugurated in this function. The plant is located at Palanpur. It has an ultra filtration plant that produces WPC 80 lactose-free whey proteins powder.
The Chief Minister also launched organic fertilizers produced by Banas.
