Railway revises fare structure for Ekta Nagar-Ahmedabad Heritage Train

New Delhi: The Ministry of Railways announced today the fare charging principles for the operation of the Heritage Special train on the Ahmedabad-Ektanagar-Ahmedabad sector.

As per the circular of the Ministry of Railways, the basic fare of the Executive AC Chair Car (EC class) of the Heritage Special train shall be the same as that of the basic fare of the existing Executive AC Chair Car (EC class) of Shatabdi Express trains.

Other charges, such as reservation fees, surcharge for superfast trains, Goods and Service Tax, etc., applicable for EC class, shall be levied separately.

Normal child fare rules applicable for EC class will apply. No concessional tickets and tickets against free complimentary passes, which are not fully reimbursed, shall be admissible on this train.

Booking of tickets against passes issued to Members of Parliament and Rail Travel Coupons (RTCs) issued to MLA/MLCs, warrants, etc., for which fares are fully reimbursed, shall be permissible on this train.

The eligibility of Privilege Pass/PTO/Duty pass, etc., for Railway employees, shall be on par with eligibility in the Executive class of Shatabdi trains.

As per the new rules, normal cancellation and refund of fare rules applicable for the Executive class shall apply.

Western Railway introduced this train in October last year, featuring the appearance of steam engine locomotives. This train operates every Sunday. You can board this train from Ahmedabad, departing at 06:10 am and reaching Ekta Nagar at 9:50 am. Interestingly, if you’re seeking a different way to travel between Vadodara and Ahmedabad, this train also provides that option, with a 5-minute halt at Vadodara Junction at 8:18 pm. The journey from Ahmedabad to Ekta Nagar takes approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes. DeshGujarat
