January 18, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya has sparked excitement nationwide, including in Gujarat. In anticipation of the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony, markets in old cities such as Manek Chowk Choksi Mahajan, Ratan Pol Sona Chandi Dagina Mahajan, and the Ahmedabad Electrical Merchants and Contractors’ Association have declared a holiday on January 22nd.
The Ahmedabad Vepari Mahajan has requested around 60 trade associations to voluntarily declare a holiday on Monday, January 22, and take part in the celebrations.
Manek Chowk Choksi Mahajan has officially declared a holiday for the occasion. An appeal is also made to shopkeepers to decorate their shops as if it were Diwali and light lamps at home.
While some associations, like Madhupura Spice Merchants Market, are still deciding, the Maskati Cloth Merchants Association plans to celebrate the consecration with shop decorations. DeshGujarat
