January 23, 2024
Gandhinagar: The education department of the Gujarat government has announced the salary raise for teachers appointed on a fixed-pay basis in the state’s secondary and higher secondary schools. The increase in the salaries ranges from Rs 4,876 to Rs 11,510 per month. This salary adjustment will come into effect from October 2023, benefiting a total of 6,668 teachers.
As per the government order, teachers on fixed pay, initially earning Rs 16,224, will now receive Rs 21,100. Those with previous salaries of Rs 19,950 will now be paid Rs 26,000 monthly. Teachers who were earning Rs 31,340 will see an increase to Rs 40,800, and those with Rs 38,090 salaries will now be entitled to Rs 49,600.
It is noteworthy that the Gujarat government had increased the salary of its fixed-pay employees in October 2023. Following this, there was a demand for a salary hike for fixed-pay teaching and non-teaching staff at the state’s grant-in-aid secondary and higher secondary schools. Now, the government has formally announced the increase. DeshGujarat
