Lioness succumbs to injuries from train collision in Amreli; third such death in a month

Amreli: A lioness, which was struck by a train in the Rajula taluka of Amreli four days ago, succumbed to its injuries today during treatment. This is the third such fatality in the district where the big cat died after being hit by trains.
The recent incident occurred on January 20th, evening when the Surat-bound Mahuva-Surat express train struck a lioness between Ringaliyana Mota and Doliya villages, approximately 17 km east of Rajula town.
The injured lioness, aged between five to seven years, was taken to the Lion Hospital in Junagadh for further treatment after railway authorities reported the incident to forest officials. The lioness had suffered a posterior fracture due to the collision. DeshGujarat
