Panipuri vendors wash potatoes with their feet in Vadodara; Video goes viral

January 25, 2024

Vadodara: A video circulating on social media from the Dandia Bazar area has shed light on unsanitary practices among panipuri vendors. The footage reveals vendors washing and mashing potatoes with their feet, raising concerns about the hygiene standards in panipuri preparation.

Despite previous interventions by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation, the problem of unhygienic panipuri preparation persists in the city. Prompted by the viral video, the health department took immediate action, after which the vendor stopped selling the panipuri and absconded.

Filmed near Bherunath Ice Cream, close to Ganapati Mandir on Dandiabazar Road, the video exposes a panipuri vendor washing potatoes with his feet in an open pan on the footpath. The health department is extending the investigation to ascertain if the vendor operates in other areas. DeshGujarat
