VMC serves notice to 6 schools with dilapidated buildings

Vadodara: The city civic body today issued closure notices to six schools run by the Vadodara City Primary Education Committee due to the dilapidated condition of their buildings.
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation has served notices to these schools as the deteriorating structures pose a threat to the security and safety of students and staff. The notices have been posted on the following schools: Madhavrao Golwalkar Marathi Shala in Sayajiganj, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Prathmik Shala, Rajaram Mohan Roy Prathmik Shala in Sayed Vasna, Maharshi Arvind Shala in Sama, Rang Avadhut Shala, Maganbhai Shankarbhai Prathmik Shala.
Chairman of the Education Committee, Minesh Pandya, said “Municipal Corporation has given notices to six schools. However, no official notice has been received by the administrative officers of the education committee, and the notice pasted on the schools does not bear any signature or stamps. The investigation is going on in the matter. The process of addressing dilapidated schools has already commenced, with children not being seated in many schools. As the current academic session is ongoing, the demolition of the school building can not take place. The demolition activity will be carried out during the vacation period. DeshGujarat
