Lioness that attacked 3 in Rajula captured by forest dept

Amreli: The forest department on Friday night rescued and caged a lioness that had become violent, attacking three people in Vavera village of Rajula taluka in a single day. The lioness was caught at the end of a 10-hour mega operation by the forest department.

According to the details, the aggressive lioness attacked Washrambhai Solanki and Manjuben Solanki, residents of Vavera village, on Friday morning. Both individuals were shifted to Rajula Hospital for treatment in a bloody condition.

ACF Vaghela, RFO Yograjsingh Rathore, along with forest department staff, reached the spot upon being informed about the incident. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the forest department team cordoned off the entire area and started the search and rescue operation.

However, in the evening, the lioness attacked a youth named Dinesh Sankhat near Dhatarwadi Dam. Dinesh was also immediately shifted to Rajula government hospital for treatment in a 108 ambulance.

Later in the night, after a 10-hour mega operation, the forest department officials from multiple ranges were able to trace the lioness. The veterinary doctors in the team knocked the lioness unconscious with a tranquilizer, after which the forest department was able to cage the lioness.
