Father-son duo crushed by tanker as pothole disbalances bike

Rajkot: A father-son duo lost their lives after being run over by a tanker on Sant Kabir Road in the city after their bike lost balance due to a pothole. The CCTV footage of the accident is going viral on social media.

The accident occurred on January 26th when Ajay Parmar and his father, Shaileshbhai Parmar, were run over by a tanker. The video of the incident depicts the duo on a bike encountering a pothole on the road. While trying to dodge the pothole and save a nearby pedestrian, the bike lost balance. As the duo and the bike fell, the tanker coming from behind ran over them, leaving them dead. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Rajkot Civil Hospital for postmortem.

Shaileshbhai Parmar, the deceased, was working as a laborer, cutting chains at his house on Sant Kabir Road, while his son Ajay used to work in L&T in Surat. Ajay was back home in Rajkot due to his cousin’s wedding.

Hitesh Parmar, cousin of the deceased, mentioned that both the father and son were heading to Yard Nagar between 8 am and 9 am when the bike slipped, and the tires of the tanker ran over them, leaving them dead on the spot. DeshGujarat
