Gujarat Budget 2024: Provision of over ₹475 crore for Statue of Unity area in tourism sector

Gandhinagar: The Finance Minister of Gujarat, Kanubhai Desai in his budget speech announced provision of more than ₹475 crore for the Statue of Unity area while speaking about proposed allocations in Tourism sector.
A provision of ₹150 crore has been made for the development of the Statue of Unity and the enhancement of infrastructural facilities, the Finance Minister said in his budget speech.
Another provision of ₹300 crore has been made for the Hospitality District Development Project at Ektanagar.
Rs. 25 crore provision is also made for the Sardar Sarovar Dam Experience Centre Ekta Nagar Project.
The Finance Minister also stated that planning is going on to build a new Veer Balak Udhyan along with ‘Gujarat Vandana’ and ‘Desi Rajawada Sangrahalaya’ (Museum of Princely States) at Ektanagar.
The works of ₹284 crore are in progress for the first and second phase of roads connecting Saputara to the Statue of Unity (Ekta Nagar). The finance minister has announced a provision of ₹100 crore for the Road & Building Department for this project. DeshGujarat
