New Delhi: Indira Gandhi International Airport Police has booked a Mehsana resident after he was deported back from Canada, and pages from his passport were found to be torn.
The 25-year-old Nirmal Patel from Visnagar in Mehsana was caught at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in the National Capital. It was found that he tore pages from his passport to eliminate evidence of his illegal travel abroad. According to an FIR filed with the IGI police, Patel arrived at the New Delhi airport on Jan 20 following his deportation from Canada.
Upon scrutinizing his passport, officials found that several pages, including the Canadian visa, were missing. An FIR has been lodged against Patel for cheating under the IPC and passport acts by the IGI police. DeshGujarat
