Surat: Stones were pelted at the Surat-Ayodhya Aastha Special Train on Sunday night, just hours after it was flagged off from Surat Railway Station.
The Union Minister of State for Railways, Darshana Jardosh, flagged off the special train bound for Ayodhya with a total of 1340 passengers on board at around 8 p.m. on Sunday. However, when the train reached Nandurbar in neighboring Maharashtra state at around 11:15 p.m., stones were pelted at the train.
Passengers reported that as soon as the train stopped, stones started coming onto the train from outside. Due to this, passengers were scared and began locking the doors and windows. However, around a dozen stones came inside the train, and even after the doors and windows were shut, people kept throwing stones.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. A team of GRP and RPF reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. After an investigation, the train was allowed to continue. The GRP stated that an investigation had been initiated by filing a case against unknown individuals. DeshGujarat
