Four BJP candidates in Gujarat declared elected to Rajya Sabha unopposed

Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s national president J P Nadda and three other candidates of the party are declared elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from Gujarat today. The three others candidates elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha are Surat based Saurashtra origin diamond baron Govindbhai Dholakia, BJP leader from the Central Gujarat Jasvantsinh Parmar and North Gujarat based BJP Gujarat Other Backward Class(OBC) Morcha chief Mayank Nayak.

They are declared elected unopposed as none of the opposition parties had fielded any candidate due to lack of numbers in the State assembly. A dummy candidate fielded by BJP also withdrew his form. There were four vacant Rajya Sabha seats in the state and as many candidates. The winners will become Rajya Sabha member after they take oath. The seats will continue to be occupied by the outgoing four Rajya Sabha member till early April this year. DeshGujarat
