Centre approves a new river bridge over Sabarmati, two Laning of Rajasthan-Mathasur highway

Gandhinagar: The Centre has approved Rs. 1097.59 crore road works for Gujarat including a new four lane bridge over river Sabarmati near Dharoi dam on National Highway 58. The new river bridge will replace a low level cause way. This project also includes two vehicle underpasses, 3 small bridges and 4 nala. In the monsoon, when water is released from Dharoi dam, a low level causeway gets submerged and traffic is disrupted for one month on Vadali – Satlasna road. A four lane river bridge will solve this problem.

The Centre has also approved a two lane paved shoulder from Khokhra Rajasthan border to Vijaynagar – Antarsuba – Mathasur chokdi road. Rs. 699 .79 crore sum is approved for two lane paved shoulder of 620 km national highway 52 from Khokhra Rajasthan border to Vijaynagar-Antarsumba-Mathasur chokdi, tender for whcih shall be out soon. At present Rajasthan border Khokhra village to Vijaynagar 11.500 km highway is 3.75 m single lane road. It will be made 10 meter paved shoulder two lane with required constructions of bridges and channels. A 45.120 km Vijaynagar-Antarsuba-Mathasur chokdi road is 7 meter. It will have 10 meters paved shoulder. Sharp cuts on Khokhra-Rajasthan border-Vijaynagar-Antarsuba-Mathasur chokdi will be straightened at 14 locations for which 5 big bridges, 29 small bridges, 105 channels, new railway over bridge near Panol village etc works will be carried out.

This will boost tourism at Ambaji mandir, Polo forest, Udaipur as this road connects them all. It’s worth noting that national highway 58’s Vadali, Dharoi and Satlasna road’s DPR (Detailed Project Report) procedure is in progress and the upgradation work will be done in the coming days.
