SMC team seizes 230 kg Paneer; Samples sent for lab test

Surat: Is it safe to eat Paneer and Paneer-made food items in food joints? Surat Municipal Corporation (AMC) has seized 230 kg paneer and sent its samples for laboratory testing. The recovery was made in Pandesara area. When inquired with a tempo driver, he said Paneer was brought from Valsad and it was for Pandesara and Udhna areas of Surat. Paneer is sold for Rs. 400 to Rs. 500 per kg but in this case, it was sold just for Rs. 150 to Rs. 180. According to SMC’s chief food inspector Jagdish Salunke, Paneer stock seized is not eatable.
