Godhra: Panchmahal Congress candidate Gulabsinh Chauhan is facing trust deficit among a large number of Congress workers in his constituency area.
A sizeable number of Congress workers from Shahera and Godhra gathered and held a meeting opposing Gulabsinh’s selection as candidate by party. The Congress workers told media persons that Gulabsinh was originally from BJP and he would eventually join BJP only. They also alleged that Gulabsinh roams around with ‘B’ team of BJP.
Somsinh Chauhan, father of Gulabsinh was elected to State assembly in 1995 as BJP candidate. He also became Transport minister. He was elected from Shehra constituency.
Panchmahal Lok Sabha seat has 7 assembly seats, among which only Lunawada was won by Congress in last assembly elections. Gulabsinh represents that seat. Party workers from Shehra, Godhra and other areas complain that there’s disconnection between Gulabsinh and party cadres in areas outside Lunawada. DeshGujarat
