Surat: 230 kg of paneer that was seized around two weeks ago by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) failed the laboratory test.
On March 21st, SMC seized 230 kg of paneer and sent its samples for laboratory testing. This paneer was seized from a tempo that had brought it from Valsad to the Pandesara area for sale in dairies and restaurants in Surat. On suspicion of adulteration, the paneer samples were sent to the public health laboratory, where it was found to be of substandard quality.
Health officer Dharmesh Salunke stated that samples were taken from the amount of paneer that was found. Currently, the sample report brought from the Public Health Laboratory indicates that the paneer is substandard. Palm fat was used instead of milk fat in the paneer, and starch was used for binding. Consumption of this type of cheese can be harmful to health. Considering the person who brought this cheese, a complaint will be filed against him in the appropriate court. DeshGujarat
