Rupala to file nomination for Lok Sabha polls on April 16th

Rajkot: Union Minister Parshotam Rupala, who is contesting from the Rajkot Lok Sabha constituency on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket, will file his nomination papers on April 16th. City BJP leader Raju Dhruv confirmed this. After a big public meeting, Rupala will file his nomination at Bahumali Bhawan in Rajkot. BJP will organize a Vijay Vishwas Sammelan before Rupala’s nomination filing.
Gujarat will go for Lok Sabha polls in the third phase, and the last date for filing nominations is April 19th. Polling will take place on May 7th. Notification will be out on April 12 after which candidates will start filing nomination forms.
Earlier, in a public meeting, the Union Minister had requested the supporters to wear turbans (Pagadi) during the nomination filing procession. Rupala is in the midst of controversy after remarks he made on March 22nd. The Kshatriya Community has been protesting against Rupala statewide, demanding the withdrawal of his candidacy from Rajkot. The protest has not subsided even after Rupala apologized twice for his remarks.
