Customer orders veg burger gets non-veg at Cafe Mocha; complaint filed

Ahmedabad: Another café in the city has found itself in controversy after serving non-veg food to a customer who had ordered vegetarian food.

While cases of insects emerging in food at hotels and restaurants in the city are not uncommon, there was an uproar at Mocha Cafe when customers were served non-veg instead of veg. This incident occurred at the Gulbai Tekra branch of Cafe Mocha. Customers named Vitasta Vyas, Ruchita Shah, Vela Pandya, and Arjvi Shah visited the cafe on Wednesday evening and ordered a veg burger, only to be served one with non-veg patties.

Vitasta Vyas told the media, “When we ordered a burger, a non-veg burger was served. Two of my friends ate half of the burger and realized it looked like chicken. When the restaurant manager was informed about this, he initially did not accept it.”

The cafe management only acknowledged their mistake after much argument. Consequently, the incident was reported to the Food Department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), which imposed a fine of Rs. 5000 on the cafe. DeshGujarat
