10 dead in car-truck accident on Ahmedabad – Vadodara Expressway

Nadiad: 10 persons are dead in an accident in which a fast-moving car hit a petrol tanker from the back side on Vadodara – Ahmedabad Expressway near Nadiad today.

The accident occurred on the Ahmedabad-Vadodara Expressway, five km away from Nadiad when a speeding car rammed into the back of a stationary tanker truck vehicle. The car was traveling from Vadodara to Ahmedabad.

Eight people lost their lives on the spot, while the two individuals who were shifted to the hospital for treatment also succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

The police are yet to provide details about the identities of the individuals involved in the accident who lost their lives. The car with the number plate GJ 27 EC 2578 has been completely wrecked in the accident. The car is registered in the name of Kiran Girishbhai Bhatt of Ahmedabad.

The car is blacklisted in RTO records as NTBT. Several challans can be seen in the RTO record in the name of this car, including two challans of Rs. 11,000 each. The car was prima facie being used for carrying passengers between Ahmedabad and Vadodara. The victims are from Ahmedabad, Nadiad, Vadodara, etc places according to the Police. The car hit a Maharashtra passing tanker from the back side. The tanker was going to Jammu from Pune. It was stationary and standing on the highway for some mechanical defect. Among ten deaths, one is a child.

Among those dead are Vadodara’s Nil Mukeshbhai Bojani, Jayshriben Mistry, car driver Surendra Ravat, Ahmedabad’s Yogesh Narendrabhai Panchal. Dead bodies are taken to Nadiad based Civil hospital for postmortem. DeshGujarat
