Dhandhuka: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat on Thursday nabbed a Class 2 officer of the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewage Board in a bribery case involving Rs. 1,20,000.
According to the details of the case, the plaintiff was performing maintenance and repairs on the water supply in 54 villages of Dhanduka taluka. The bills for work done in the last three months were passed with no deductions and were immediately forwarded after approval. For this, the accused Vaibhav Achalkumar Srivastava, Deputy Executive Engineer (Class-II) of the Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Public Health Welfare Sub-Division, Dhandhuka, demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,20,000 (Rs. 30,000 per month for 4 months).
As the complainant was not willing to pay the bribe, they contacted the ACB. Based on the complaint, the ACB set a bribe trap and caught the accused red-handed while demanding and accepting the bribe money. DeshGujarat
