Rajkot Doctor expelled from Ayushyaman scheme

Rajkot: Rajkot based Dr. Hiren Mashru has been expelled from Ayushyaman Card scheme of health insurance after the Health department and Insurance company found corrupt practice on his part.
Dr. Mashru runs Nihit babycare hospital in Rajkot. He is accused of admit healthy children in Intensive Care Unit(ICU) hospital to claim and get money from Ayushyaman scheme. Dr. Mashru had shown 523 admissions in his hospital and claimed Rs. 2.53 crore over them. His hospital was linked to Ayushyaman scheme for two years. So far under the scheme total 1483 children were admitted.
As per a news report, the doctor would first inquire whether the patient’s family is covered by Ayushyaman card scheme or not. Once confirmed that the family is beneficiary of scheme, Dr. Mashru would collect samples of child and send them to Mangalam laboratory. Later the reports would be amended and a child would be admitted for 7-10 days in NICU. The details would be uploaded on Ayushyaman scheme’s government portal and per day Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 10,000 would be claimed under the scheme. DeshGujarat
