Religious encroachments razed in demolition drive in Bhavnagar

Bhavnagar: The city civic authorities today carried out a mega demolition drive against illegal encroachment, including illegal religious structures. The action comes after the verdict of the Gujarat High Court in a petition related to illegal encroachment of government land in the Bortalav area.
In the demolition, operation carried out on the road leading from Bortalav’s Dhobi Society toward Balvatika, around 85 illegal structures, including four temples and one mosque, were demolished. Over 70 police personnel were present during the operation conducted by the Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
The demolition was carried out by the estate department of the BMC, and along with police personnel, over 20 personnel from the Fire department were also present at the location. DeshGujarat
