Three drown in Mahisagar river during Galateshwar outing

Kheda: Three individuals from Ahmedabad lost their lives after they drowned in the Mahisagar River in the Galateshwar area of the city. The incident occurred on Sunday when a group of nine friends was visiting Galateshwar in Kheda. Some members of this group went down to bathe in the Mahisagar River. One member of the group started drowning, and in an attempt to save him, three other friends ended up drowning in the river.

The local swimmers saved one young man. The body of one was found on Sunday, and the bodies of the two others who went missing in the water were found today.

As soon as the incident was reported, the Sevaliya police rushed to the spot and began an investigation. The police have registered a death report based on information from Kirit Chavda (residing in Sukhini Muwadi, Galateshwar). The three individuals who passed away from drowning are identified as Hiteshbhai Maheshbhai Chavda (aged 39, resident of Khokhara, Ahmedabad), Sunil Kushwah (resident of Vatva, Ahmedabad), and Pradeep Vaghela (resident of Ahmedabad). All the bodies have been taken to Sewaliya Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Regarding the incident, Sevaliya PSI MH Rawal said that the group had come from Ahmedabad to Galateshwar in two different rickshaws yesterday due to intense heat. Four friends went down to the river to bathe when the incident occurred. The necessary records have been made.
